Since October, our vines have been subject to almost constant rainfall, with a lot of heterogeneity depending on the geographical areas on our farm.

As early as May, some plots were weakened by spring frost. A little later, hail struck and damaged certain areas. We escaped the worst, but unfortunately, some of our colleagues in the Marne Valley were not so lucky.

Rain, wind and cold punctuated our start to the season, delaying the development of the vines. Fortunately, summer finally seems to be showing its face in recent days. Temperatures are rising and the sun is making a comeback.

‘Let’s hope that this change continues … ‘

The hope of a saving summer

Despite these climatic hazards, we remain optimistic. The arrival of fine weather and milder temperatures allow us to envisage better ripening of the grapes.
Our intern Lucas, a future tractor driver, is doing everything he can to cultivate and maintain the soils of our vineyard with care and know-how. His commitment and involvement contribute to the resilience of our operation in the face of these climatic challenges.

An uncertain but hopeful 2024 vintage

This atypical start to the season reminds us of the whims of nature and the importance of adapting to a changing climate. We remain mobilized and determined to produce quality wines, reflecting the unique character of our terroir.

The future will tell us if this 2024 vintage, marked by bad weather, will be able to reveal itself despite everything. In the meantime, we continue to work hard, accompanied by our intern Lucas, to preserve the health of our vines and offer our customers exceptional wines.

In the meantime, we are happy to share with you the latest news from our house and wish you a wonderful summer and happy holidays.
