KILLING MORE BUBBLES THAN JAMES BOND AND SHARING THE SECRETS.
Which Champagne would You treat your parents or in-laws?
‘My parents: RARE Rosé 2008 – it just pairs so well with my mum’s roast duck.‘
‘My in-laws: I’d consider Agrapart ’Avizoise’ for 1st course and Egly-Ouriet ’Les Crayeres’ for main. But as a decent son-in-law, I shall not interfere with my father- in-law’s wine line-up and just slip in Doyard’s ’La Libertine’ for dessert, as a suprise.’
Which Champagne would You treat your lover?
‘My lover is so hot and special, she needs to be paired with special wines from a hot vintage: Selosse ’Les Carelles’ RP03 for foreplay, Bruno Paillard N.P.U. Rosé 2003 for afterwards. Both rare beauties like her.’
Which Champagne would You treat your boss?
‘I have my own company and as I work in the creative industry, it is easy to guess. My favourite gift to my clients is Louis Roederer ’Brut Nature ’2012. Not just for the stylish Starck design but also for the storytelling – imho it is the perfect example of a modern-day champagne, inside out. And utmost versatile for food pairings.’
Which Champagne would You treat yourself
‘Tough question as I love the sheer diversity of champagne. It will be most likely a rather nice vintage of Jacquesson ’Vauzelle Terme’, Philipponnat ’Clos des Goisses’, Louis Roederer ’Cristal’, Billecart-Salmon ’Clos St. Hillaire’ or Pol Roger ’Cuvee Sir Winston Churchill’. As you can see, I am Pinot-driven boy at heart.”
Which Champagne would You treat a dream guest, and why?
‘My dream guests are Bobby Axelrod and Mike Wagner (from the series ‘Billions’) because they have style and wit and charisma and know how to party. They are also wealthy enough to rent a New York City penthouse, hire Daft Punk as DJs and invite all Victoria Secret’s Angels to our party. I’ll bring Magnums of Salon 2002 and Armand de Brignac ’Blanc de Blancs’. And we will party as there is no tomorrow. ‘
