To inspire you as you pack your suitcase, we’ve chosen five Krug Ambassades that you can visit this summer.
1.
LEÑA
Marbella, Spain
Under the searing sun of Marbella, on Spain’s southern coast, Chef Dani Garcia has created Leña, a modern twist on the traditional steakhouse. Behind the grill, Dani shows off his culinary chops, crafting an inventive cuisine that highlights his respect for the produce. Take Chef Garcia’s advice for the ideal Krug pairing: a charcoal-grilled piece of meat with a high streak of fat and light maturation.
2.
VILLA CRESPI
Orta San Giulio, Italy
Nestled in a verdant park on the tranquil shores of Lake Orta, Villa Crespi is home to an exclusive hotel and a 2 Michelin star restaurant, helmed by Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo. Fusing the culinary heritage of his native region of Campania with the ingredients and traditions of Piedmont, Chef Cannavacciuolo offers an extraordinary gastronomic experience in the dazzling setting of this 19th-century Moorish villa.
3.
LA CHÈVRE D’OR
Èze, France
Step inside the restaurant La Chèvre d’Or, perched high above the azure waters of the Mediterranean, and you’ll immediately be mesmerised by the breathtaking view. Equally enchanting is the menu proposed by Chef Arnaud Faye, at the head of the restaurant since 2016, whose cuisine celebrates the diverse terroir of this sun-drenched region. On the wine list, you’ll naturally find an impressive selection of Krug Champagnes. Take a seat by the window and spend an afternoon contemplating the infinite horizon.
4.
THE MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN
Leeds, United Kingdom
As summer destinations go, Leeds may not be the first spot that comes to mind. But Chef Michael O’Hare’s 2 Michelin star restaurant makes the Yorkshire city well worth a detour, or a long weekend. His cuisine is as theatrical as you would expect for a restaurant called The Man Behind The Curtain. Coupled with the eclectic decor and playful presentation of each dish, it makes for an unforgettable dining experience.
5.
LE GRAND BELLEVUE
Gstaad, Switzerland
If mountain pastures and spectacular views are more your idea of a dream summer escape, step aboard the fabled GoldenPass railway, destination Gstaad in the Swiss Alps. Le Grand Bellevue is a sumptuous retreat after a day taking the Alpine airs on a hike, or luxuriating in Le Grand Spa.
