Agrapart is a serious grower owning 12 hectares of vines in 62 parcels, concentrated in the grand crus of Avize, Oger, Cramant, and Oiry, with a small part in Coligny part of the Val du Petit Morin and also Vauciennes and Avenay-Val-d’Or in the Marne Valley and producing beautiful storable wines vinified in oak barrels of varying sizes. As much as 60% goes on export. Initially I fell especially for the Terroirs which is creamy and impressively intense with Cramant as its guiding star. Rounded, nutty and syrupy. With such a voluminous structure it ought to be designated as vintage. When “2002 Vénus” and “2003 Mineral” appeared on the market, I could no longer hold back the fourth star. Mineral is from the lieux-dits of Bionnes in Cramant and Champbouton in Avize. Avizoise, is produced from the lieux-dits Robarts and Gros Yeux in Avize from vines more than fifty years of age.The top of the line Vénus, is produced from a single lieu-dit in Avize called Fosse and is named after his working horse. Pascal Agrapart is an excellent winemaker indeed. One of the top growers in Champagne. Close to 5 stars.
