60 years ago, in 1964, the film classic James Bond Goldfinger was released. In connection with the 60th anniversary, Champagne Bollinger is launching a unique limited edition Millésime 2007 Magnum with a Goldfinger theme. The bottle comes in a custom, handmade Globe-Trotter case. Each bag also contains four exclusive Bollinger 007 glasses, making this a unique collector’s item. Each copy is numbered from 001 to 200, only one of these copies will be sold in Sweden via Bukowski’s drink auction D063, the online catalog will be published on October 25.

Bollinger Millésime 2007 Magnum

To reflect the long-standing collaboration between the champagne house and 007, the bold and lively 2007 vintage has been selected by Bollinger. Bollinger Millésime 2007 is released in a limited edition and the prestige cuvé is a real piece of craftsmanship. The blend consists of 70% Pinot Noir from Aÿ and Verzenay and 30% Chardonnay from Avize, Cramant and Oger. The majority of the grapes come from Grand Cru farms, 91%, with the remaining 9% coming from Premier Cru farms.

This blend truly symbolizes Bollinger’s unique craftsmanship from the vineyard to the cellar. All grapes were harvested by hand, vinified in oak barrels before being stored in Bollinger’s cellar for 17 years until riddling and disgorging was carried out by hand. The contrast between the spicy aromas, notes of fruit, brioche and honey together with high acidity makes this a unique taste experience.

Champagne Club by Richard Juhlin Tasting Note – 2007 is in most hands a weak and diluted vintage that I normally avoid. The exception is spelled Bollinger! The powerful house style often shines brighter during lighter vintages than the years when the heat dominates and creates inflated fruit bombs. Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Francaises stands in a class of its own, but then the vintage wines from Bollinger are top on my list from 2007. The wine was already like La Grande Année classically built and balanced with good depth and tightly beautiful malic acids. Now in the RD version, the minerality is even clearer with macadam, chalk and gunpowder smoke. The champagne is extremely slim with a slightly buttery vanilla-like note as the top layer on above the dry notes of cocoa, hazelnut cream, dried apricots, blood orange and red juicy apples. The taste has a lighter mouthfeel than usual and significantly less of forest mushrooms, wood and spices than in most vintages of this heroic wine.

An unusually fine-tuned classic that would fit perfectly in a romantic bedroom scene in the next Bond movie.

Each magnum bottle and accompanying glass is presented in a custom-made Globe-Trotter case. Handcrafted in England, with great care and attention to detail, this bag is a true design classic for the discerning traveller. The clean black design exudes modern elegance, which is enhanced by tasteful brass details.

Made of vulcanized fiber material, a material that is lighter than aluminum and stronger than leather, the bag consists of 14 layers of recycled paper bonded with zinc. The iconic leather corners take five days to shape and manufacture by hand, using traditional methods for optimal strength and shape. The handle is completely handmade and is adorned with the Bollinger logo. Each bag is unique, with numbered brass plates from 001 to 200, and has a unique serial number. Inside, the bag is adorned with a specially designed lining featuring Goldfinger and Bollinger along with an additional brass plate for Bollinger’s emblem. The inner lining is carefully manufactured to be luxurious, durable and waterproof. Each bag is also equipped with a carbon steel lock so you can travel with peace of mind.

The magnum bottle and four 007-branded glasses rest securely in the case with a precisely cut compartment to protect the bottle and glasses during transport. This can then be removed so you can travel in style and elegance, wherever you are in the world.
