Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

On the one hand, time is concrete: the clock that inevitably ticks forward, the seconds that pass. On the other hand, time is incomprehensible. A year can fly by at breakneck speed, a brief moment of horror can last an eternity.

David Bowie noted that time goes faster the older you get. Objectively, of course, that’s not true – a minute always lasts 60 seconds, regardless of whether you’re 25 or 75 years old – but in the fall of age, when the sand in the upper part of the hourglass gets smaller and smaller, it feels like time is flying by.
