Michel Genet

★★★★

The three siblings Genet has taken over after their father Michel and has become a leading biodynamic producer with a brand new portfolio of exciting wines. Right next to Legras there is a medium-sized villa where Genet lives and makes light and pure champagnes. The Genet family has been established for several generations in the Grand Cru village Chouilly, Michel Genet created its brand in 1965.

Today, Vincent, Agnès, Antoine, has take over the 9 hectares of their ancestors. 7.6 hectares are planted with Chardonnay including 7 hectares in Grand Cru and 1.4 in Pinot Noir. The average age of vines is 35 years. A healthy and sustainable viticulture, made of reasoned struggle, plowing, and grass-growing, is practiced on the vines. A little more than 37 plots, like a mosaic, make up our vineyard, thus allowing subtle assemblages, and to perpetuate the vinification codes established by Michel Genet. The style is not as wild as many biodynamic examples. Instead classic and elegant.
